And I&#8217;m kicking it off with my favorite Christmas cookie recipe &#8211; Ginger Crinkles. I&#8217;m making a batch to take to a church Christmas party and thought I&#8217;d pull out my Julia Child imitation to show you how it&#8217;s done&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yvNVrkCOa14?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ginger Crinkles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 1\/4 cups all-purpose flour<br \/>\n2 teaspoons baking soda<br \/>\n1 teaspoon ground ginger<br \/>\n1 teaspoon ground cinnamon<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon ground cloves<br \/>\n1 cup packed brown sugar<br \/>\n3\/4 cup shortening (or cooking oil)<br \/>\n1\/4 cup molasses<br \/>\n1 egg<\/p>\n<p>Stir together the first 6 ingredients. Combine the remaining ingredients and beat well. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beating well. Form 1-inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
