It’s Back! My Crazy Christmas Blowout! And I’m kicking it off with my favorite Christmas cookie recipe – Ginger Crinkles. I’m making a batch to take to a church Christmas party and thought I’d pull out my Julia Child imitation to show you how it’s done…
Ginger Crinkles
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup shortening (or cooking oil)
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
Stir together the first 6 ingredients. Combine the remaining ingredients and beat well. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beating well. Form 1-inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven about 10 minutes. Makes 48
